Essential Oils For Well Being

essential: \i-'sen-chêl\ adj 1. something basic, necessary or indispensable 2. containing or constituting an essence 3. of the utmost importance: INDISPENSABLE syn requisite, needful [Webster's Dictionary]

My experiences and personal growth with Aromatherapy using pure essential oils are listed here. I studied Chemistry of Essential Oils with David Stewart and YLEO. I've invested thousands of dollars in my education. Please take a look around and enjoy. I add new material regularly to keep my site fresh, so check back often! Using oils that are high on the antioxidant list can really refresh your mind. Mixing rosemary, clove and nutmeg and putting that on a difuser necklace will keep your energy levels high.

Recent research has influenced me to give a sincere WARNING: Application of too many oils on the body have a negative effect on the liver. After many years of raindrop therapy, blue oil began leaking from my breasts. Ater 2 years without raindrop therapy oils are still being expressed! For this reason I suggest you diffuse oils without heat that can change the chemical structure.

Lori Gosselin sells The wonderful new personal diffuser - that you wear in 42 different designs.

Her Guarantee: If you are not thrilled with your Terra Cotta Pendant, you can simply return it for a full refund. You have nothing to lose except poor air, fatigue, stress, mood-swings, lack of motivation…you know what we mean! So what are you waiting for? See the 42 different ways you can express your unique personality while you freshen the air you breathe, wherever you go!

For airline flights, using these should be a priority!Or hang them in closets to deter insects from nesting in clothing.

Unfortunately I will not personally advise strangers via email on how to use essential oils. I recieve many emails with a demand for information. That is like asking an unknown medical professional to diagnose and treat without an examination or medical history for free.... Take a course, muscle test yourself holding the bottle against the breast bone and ASK GOD!!!

After 20 + years of private practice, my experience with aromatherapy stands out as an effective catalyst to wellness, balance and healing when used cautiously.

Trial and error research on myself was also part of my experience. I use only pure essential oils. They are the most potent and effective oils.

The olfactory nerve, the part of our brain associated with smell is closely connected to the limbic system. It is concerned with our most subtle responses like emotion, memory, sex-drive and intuition.

Aromatherapy is believed to stimulate the immune system, reduce stress, relieve pain, and help heal physical and emotional disorders.

This healing art, centuries old, dates back to ancient Egypt, where aromatics were used for beauty, healing rituals, massage and embalmment.

The Greeks perfumed their food, wine and their bodies. They burnt sweet incense in temples, city squares and at special altars, hoping this would appease the gods.

Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, believed a daily aromatic bath and massage prolonged life; he also encouraged physicians to disinfect clothing and hands with a mixture of sandalwood, camphor and rosewater.

In the early 1900's a French chemist, named Rene Gattefosse, laid the foundation for modern aromatherapy. He burnt his hand, plunged it into a nearby vat of lavender essence and was amazed to see how fast the burn healed.

Dr. Jean Valnet, a French ex-army surgeon, used essential oils to treat wounds and burns. Today many physicians prescribe aromatherapy for its therapeutic and healing properties.

All essential oils are antiseptic, and many possess antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

To scent a room, DO NOT put a few drops of oil on a ceramic scent ring on top of a light bulb.( & Never put the oil directly on the bulb.) Heat neutralizes the healing effects of essential oils! An electric diffuser, vaporizer or micromister can be used. Aromatic baths with a few drops of essential oil added to salt, then added to the bathwater creates well-being, and stimulating or relaxing.

Private research at Weber State University, successfully demonstrated specific essential oils diffused in a closed chamber killed every virus tested within minutes. Of 74 single oils tested, lemongrass, roman chamomile, cinnamon, rose, valerian and yarrow scored the highest kill rates.

Health benefits

Aside from promoting relaxation, the use of essential oils activates immune activity, lowers blood pressure, stimulates digestive processes and causes the release of endorphins ('feel good chemicals").

There are over 300 essential oils. Between 50 and 100 have health-giving properties and are used in aromatherapy. Essential distillation, contain from fifty to two hundred chemical components.

Essential oils, never taken internally, should be used cautiously. (People with skin problems, allergies, asthma, epilepsy and certain other medical conditions.) To avoid irritation, keep away from the eyes and mucous membranes. Children under five, pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid using essential oils. They can be toxic to the developing fetus or young child.

Use Massage Oils based on Organically produced Almond, Grapeseed, Olive, Sesame Seed, and Sunflower Seed Oils mixed with various Essences for specific desired benefits.

The oils can be applied to the skin, taken orally or diffused in the air with a nebulizing (see shopping category "Accessories") diffuser. The essential oils are available in individual bottles or in kits and gift sets. Some oils should not be taken internally, e.g. the conifer oils. Others are very strong and need to be diluted before being applied to the skin, especially Cinnamon, Clove, Lemongrass and Oregano. You can find some more guidelines about how different oils may be used in the brochure "How to Use Essential Oils," or refer to a handbook on Aromatherapy and Essential Oils.
